New Development Schedule
by Kenneth Richards - Wednesday, January 14, 2004
from the Development dept.
Currently, I am in the process of cleaning up all of the code in preparation for a new release of ASP Nuke. Previously, the development has been pretty haphazard with a lot of bugs showing up in the releases. From here on in, that is all going to change.
I am developing a testing process that will be done before a new release of the software will be done. This will ensure that ASPNuke is a stable system that can be used by everyone.
I have already started the process of testing the entire application and have found many bugs and also many different areas that could use improvements. The new release should be available this weekend or by the latest next week sometime.
Now that the framework architecture has somewhat stabilized, it will be easier to develop and maintain the application and various modules that may be used. After the new release is launched, I will be doing some work on the documentation so that you may develop your own custom modules for the application. I have put some documentation in the source code itself to make your life easier.
I am interested in knowing what different applications people will be using ASP Nuke for. Because of it's modular architecture, it can be used for a wide variety of different sites (with the creation of additional "special purpose" modules.)
For instance, it could be used to create a gaming portal, school news, sports organizations and company news site to name a few. Let me know what you think the best application for ASP Nuke would be by posting your comments below.
